The United Shippers Alliance is a shippers association that negotiates both domestic service contracts with LTL carriers for less than truckload activity and international service contracts with ocean carriers for in-bound and out-bound ocean containers; master group service contracts that are then available for use at the option and discretion of the association’s shipper-members.

The United Shippers Alliance is located in Columbus, Ohio and serves a wide-range of shipper-members throughout the United States with international service contracts that offer members competitive rates for ocean containers in all of the world’s major shipping lanes. The shippers association also offers competitive domestic less than truckload programs with both regional and national LTL carriers. All shipper-members of the shippers association are served equally, each with customized service designed to meet each member’s requirements for ocean containers and with their less than truckload activity, all contracts packaged to meet the unique transportation requirements of each member, all programs at the option of each member.

As a shippers association, the United Shippers Alliance is a nonprofit buyers’ co-operative of transportation services, using market intelligence, experience and the combined volume of freight of the many shipper-members as leverage when negotiating transportation rates and services with the carriers of ocean containers and of less than truckload freight. Through these master group service contracts, the shippers association arranges all the programs for ocean containers and LTL activity, all designed for the exclusive benefit of its shipper-members.

This shippers association, led by the shipper association’s executive director, represents shippers united in the common effort to improve transportation costs, times and service for themselves through collective bargaining with the carriers of ocean containers and domestic less than truckload freight.
